Empty Ku

a small woodpecker
on a sunflower head
finds the last one

I tell Joan
what's on my mind,
nothing comes out of something

below the fog
on Sylvia Lake
an otter in quietude

at Bottle Beach
between the falcon
and the sandpiper

a full moon
at 3 a.m. –
an empty bed

These 'ku have a feeling of 'full', even though each speaks to a kind of empty. In each, a complete story pictured in just a few words. I love it!

Marvelous, from first to last. Interestingly, the first and the last are my favorites.

These are clever and sweet little poems. I like the images and story you arch between them. Nicely written.
