I take a string of worry beads,
a blue-black feather, a fossil shell,
a Li Pai poem printed on rice
paper, an ivory toothpick, three
Spanish coins, a sprig of sage,
a bronze donkey-bell, seven
yucca seeds, an obsidian flake,
a pocket watch stopped at 2:30,
one redwood cone, a jade
countercharm for double happiness,
a small glass of port wine,
go to the window, and look inside.

Great metaphysical imagery - ceremonial and cleansing.
Great poetry, and yes I think we all need to take a look inside ourselves!
I'm intrigued by the preparation, and I want to know what you see when you look inside.
a earth born ceremony at its best... wonderful write....
Love the imagery, so solid and easy to see in the mind's eye.
It seems to lead to another poem.......
I wondered where you were going with this and then I got the end and...perfection! Looking inside. Two words that say so much!
