Have a great trip! I'll be driving through some similar terrain - do you have a pirate poet flag so I can recognize you in maybe Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado (route yet to be determined)?
The "swift" is suitable for haiku; tried it, too much for me; three lines, isn't it? Don't want to lose the spiral part--or the diving, but definitely the last line is perfect for haiku. What do you think?
Some of my poems are bundled in .pdf files named 'Word Anger', 'Loose Thoughts', 'Nose in the Wind', and 'To the Fly on My Sleeve'. For copies send an email to mikemcculley at reachone dot com, or via the profile, subject: E Book, specify which file(s), and I will attach them to a reply.

"three ballerinas and a flute"
I like that phrase.
Enjoy the great outdoors.

Not that the poem isn't fine as it stands.
